Puppies often have worms. Experienced dog owners know this. That's why they start by giving him a regular worming treatment. Sometimes the diarrhea keeps coming back despite multiple worming treatments, cleaning the entire house and washing all the dog things. Our Monty had a hard time with it - he kept passing slimy, gel-like stools, sometimes even a frightening red color. We were sent home from the emergency clinic with another worming treatment, a note with behavioral instructions and the certainty that he has Giardia. Giardia is extremely contagious and very resistant.

All 3 of our dogs had to do the treatment again. The whole house was scrubbed, all the laundry including dog cushions and sofa covers were washed. Everything was fine. But 2 weeks later Monty had it again: extreme diarrhea! This time we went to our heart clinic on Rothenbaumchaussee and were told an old “housewife’s trick” (what a stupid word).

Moro's carrot soup is one of the best home remedies for diarrhea. Incidentally, it's also good for humans!
With this homemade carrot soup we coat the small intestine from the inside - before or with every meal. Harmful intestinal germs such as Giardia hate this sugar coating.

The recipe was first published at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1908, the renowned Austrian pediatrician Ernst Moro, who was a senior physician at the children's clinic at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich at the time, managed to drastically reduce the mortality and complication rate of children with diarrhea by administering this carrot soup. Moro prepared the soup according to old family recipes, saving the lives of many children in his area of ​​​​operation.

The Carrot Soup Recipe

For the  Moro's carrot soup  Only half a kilo of peeled  carrots  in one liter of water over a longer period of time, at least 90 minutes. After  straining  the carrots are  pureed. Then the soup is refilled with boiling water to one liter and 3 g of salt are added.

Another little tip

Since we feed raw meat, but raw meat is not helpful at this moment, we boil the meat and put a little bit of it in the soup so that the darlings can at least have a little fun while eating.
