Our story doesn't begin on the drawing board, but in the midst of life – where dogs need closeness, seek security and sometimes a little more protection than others.

Why we founded 4Legs

4Legs originated from a very simple question: Why are there so few things that are truly beautiful – and also truly functional?

We already lived with our dogs back then – our Italian Greyhounds. Monty and Karlchen – and later our Weimaraner arrived Leopold to it. Before Leo, our Labrador bitch belonged to Lotte To us: a large, calm, loving dog who shaped our family – and whom we still miss very much.

They made us realize how big the gap in the market is. Either we found products that were aesthetically pleasing but priced far beyond everyday life, or solutions that seemed very cheap – But in detail, they didn't deliver what you need in real life: safety, comfort, good materials, a fit that doesn't restrict the dog. Uncluttered design.

Being out and about can be noisy. For sensitive dogs, a place that offers peace and quiet is essential.

And then Monty came along.

In May 2020, Monty – just five months old – jumped out of the open tailgate. The jump resulted in a severe leg fracture. Surgery, a metal plate, screws, and many weeks of learning just how fragile such a small body can be followed.

Just when we thought the worst was over, he injured his other leg too. He got his nickname in the hospital: “Crash pilot”.

That's exactly where 4Legs began. Not as a "brand idea," but as a necessity: We needed a solution that provides support—literally and figuratively. A bag that offers security. Products that bring peace to sensitive dogs. Things that don't need explaining because they immediately feel right.

Experience leads to a claim

Since then, we have consistently developed our products based on practical experience. We test in real-life situations: at home, in the car, on the go. We discard, revise, and improve – until form and function quietly harmonize.

Today Monty is doing very well. His bones have healed nicely – and our experience is in every detail we develop.

Craftsmanship & Origin

We manufacture in in-house tailoring departments and in Poland. We source our leather goods from Spain, Portugal and India. Our shipping is exclusively from Germany – fast, reliable and with great attention to detail.

Quality is sometimes just a millimeter – but you can feel it.
