Only the sidewalk will get wet.
Not your dog.
Why almost every dog needs protection during prolonged rain – and what distinguishes a truly waterproof coat from everything else.
Hand-sewn in Hamburg. Warmly lined. In memorable colors.
There are walks you don't plan. The sky was still blue when you set off. Ten minutes later, the rain starts – that fine, cold kind that seems to get everywhere. Your dog looks at you. Not accusingly. More like questioningly.
Most dogs don't like rain. Whether short-haired or long-haired, big or small. Of course, there are exceptions – Labradors, German Shepherds, and Bernese Mountain Dogs practically swim in it. But Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Vizslas, Weimaraners, Whippets, and Italian Greyhounds – they all get cold when it rains for a long time. And they get wet faster than you'd think.
The crucial differenceWaterproof. Not just water-repellent.
That sounds like a technical detail. But it's the most important difference between a coat that truly protects and one that only does so for a while.
Water-repellent This means the fabric repels moisture in the short term. This works well in light drizzle. However, in prolonged or heavy rain, the material eventually becomes saturated and wicks the moisture away from the body.
Waterproof This means the material is completely waterproof. Not after five minutes, not after twenty. The dog stays dry – even in a downpour.
Most dog raincoats on the market are made of water-repellent material. “Safe From Rain” It's made of waterproof material. That's not a marketing claim – it's the reason it's called that.
"Water-repellent protects against drizzle. Waterproof protects against rain."
Water droplets simply bead off – the material delivers on its promise.
Warm. Not just dry.
Lined with soft polar fleece.
Waterproof alone isn't enough. Many coats on the market are water-repellent, but unlined. No inner lining, no warmth. The cold material lies directly against the fur. The dog may appear dry on the surface, but it still gets cold.
The "Safe From Rain" is lined with soft material on the inside. Polar fleece Lined – pleasant against the skin, warm without being too heavy. The waterproof rain jacket material reliably keeps out the wetness on the outside. Inside, it remains cozy. That sounds obvious – but it isn't on the market.

Handmade. In Hamburg.
The effort that goes into it.
What distinguishes the "Safe From Rain" coat from industrially manufactured coats is not just the material. It's the way it's made. Each coat is hand-sewn – in Hamburg.
Raincoat fabric is more difficult to work with than regular fabric – it doesn't forgive any inaccuracies. The lining, the adjustable waist belt, the high collar with its linen opening, the length adjustment at the rear – all of this makes each coat a complex sewing project that takes a lot of time. That's probably why there are so few coats of this kind. It's simply not worth it if you're producing in bulk.
Fit and shape – the coat is adjustable in length at the back.
Details that really help
Thought through. From start to finish.
The coat doesn't just protect the back. A wide strap covers both the chest and belly – infinitely adjustable with Velcro. The high collar also protects the neck, has an opening for attaching a leash, and can be adjusted further. The length can be individually adjusted at the rear – because no two dogs are alike.
Reflective strips on the back and neck ensure visibility in the dark. And the outer material can be easily wiped clean with a microfiber cloth – no need to wash it immediately if it gets dirty. A real advantage, especially with lighter colors.
"Practical and beautiful – for us, that was never a contradiction."
In real-world use: the coat lives up to its name.
Available in many colors
Because rain grey is not mandatory.
Many raincoats come in black or gray – that's it. The "Safe From Rain" raincoat, however, is available in a color palette that shows a rainy day doesn't have to be a gray day. And because the material is so easy to care for, a bright white or a delicate pink is no problem either – just wipe it clean, and you're done.
